Do you ever wish you could’ve just studied skateboarding?
Well our good friend Leo Valls has come up which perhaps the closest thing to just that.
Shifty is the first graduate training course to teach the creative trades of digital marketing through skateboarding culture. It is a European certified BAC + 3. Equivalent to a BA Honours degree.
Skateboarding undoubtedly teaches us beneficial values in both education and life, including persistence, creativity, surpassing oneself, adaptability to one’s environment and freedom of expression. It is an individual activity that is shared by many and promotes social cohesion. Skateboarding also a strong culture branching out from the visual arts, music, architecture, photography, film, fashion, and the medium of bodily expression.
As Shifty’s manifesto explains:
“We meet the needs of recruiters who are now looking for agile and creative personnel, cradled in new digital and cultural uses. Being a skateboarder has become an asset that is valued and professionally rewarding. Our speakers are recognized experts who share this common passion for skateboarding with students. Skateboarding teaches values that are beneficial to education, including persistence, creativity, surpassing oneself, and adaptability to one’s environment. It is by practicing what they love that students get involved and learn. We believe that this pedagogy, which has already proven itself at the Bryggeriets school in Malmö, Sweden, is the best way to achieve good results”.
